How much does an interior designer cost?
My fees are structured to suit the scope and complexity of your project. I’m transparent and honest in my dealings with you and you will always receive a written quotation to approve, before any work begins. Have a look at My Fees for more information.
What information will you need from me?
I will start by asking a few questions, to get you thinking a little differently about your project. They will be questions along the lines of:
- Are we starting from scratch or do you have family heirlooms that you are keeping?
- How would you best describe your style?
- Who will be using your home? I’ll need to establish if this is for a family, or a bachelor pad for example
- What colours do you like?
- What colours do you really dislike?
- Are you superstitious?
- Do you have pets?
- What budget do you have in mind?
You can get the ball rolling to think about these things when you fill out a new client questionnaire.
Do you source the materials, or is that up to me?
I source all the goods that are required for your work. That’s typically because I have access to resources unavailable to you. In the world of interior design, there is a wealth of furnishings, fabrics, accessories that are available “to the trade only”. But when you work with me, you’ll have access to this inner circle.
How long will it take?
That is a very good question! It depends on the complexity and size of the job. I’ll be able to give you a more accurate timeframe during the initial site visit.
Do you project manage?
Yes! I would love to. But some clients prefer to manage the problem themselves, and that’s also absolutely fine.
Do you take care of the installation?
Yes. I like to take care of the installation because I’ll liaise with my preferred team of trades. I have worked with these professionals for years, and I have confidence in their work ethic, and the quality of the work they do.
What experience do you have?
I have over 30 years of experience working and running the interior design department of Britain’s largest co-owned department store. During my career I have completed major projects on a range of high profile properties for well-known public figures.
Can I see your past work?
Of course! Have a look at the before and after photos of some of my recent projects.
