How much does an interior designer cost?
My fees are structured to suit the scope and complexity of your interior design project. I’m transparent and honest in my dealings with you and you will always receive a written quotation to approve, before any work begins. Have a look at My Fees for more information on the services I provide.
What information will you need from me?
I will start by asking a few questions, to get you thinking a little differently about your project. They will be questions along the lines of:
- Are we starting from scratch or do you have family heirlooms that you are keeping in your house?
- How would you best describe your interior style?
- Who will be using your home? I’ll need to establish if this is for a family, or a bachelor pad for example.
- What colour schemes do you like?
- What colour schemes do you really dislike?
- Are you superstitious with your interiors?
- Do you have pets?
- What budget do you have in mind for your interior project?
You can get the ball rolling to think about these things when you fill out a new client questionnaire.
Do you source the materials, or is that up to me?
I source all the goods that are required for your interior design work. That’s typically because I have access to resources unavailable to you. In the world of interior design, there is a wealth of furnishings, fabrics, and accessories that are available “to the trade only”. But when you work with me, you’ll have access to this inner circle of professionals.
How long will it take?
That is a very good question! It depends on the complexity and size of your interior project. I’ll be able to give you a more accurate timeframe during the initial site visit to discuss your interior design project.
Do you project manage?
Yes! I would love to. But some clients prefer to manage the interior project themselves, and that’s also absolutely fine. Although with a wealth of experience, you are in safe hands with me and my team of professional trades.
Do you take care of the installation?
Yes. I like to take care of the installation because I’ll liaise with my preferred team of trades. I have worked with these professionals for years, and I have confidence in their work ethic, and the quality of the work they do.
What experience do you have?
I have over 30 years of experience working and running the interior design department of Britain’s largest co-owned department store. During my career I have completed major projects on a range of high profile properties for well-known public figures.
Can I see your past work?
Of course! Have a look at the before and after photos of some of my recent projects. These range from living room interior designs, to bathroom and kitchen designs.
